Water-stencil blended background

1 On a smooth white card, blend Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, and Peeled Paint together. Continue adding ink until you are happy with the depth of colour.

2 Using a stencil of choice, spritz stencil with a light mist of water and lay the wet stencil down over blended inks. Lay paper towel over the top and pat it gently to soak up excess water.
3 As the water dries, it will leave behind the pattern of the stencil and you will be able to see how the Oxide Inks react with water.

4 Cut down the card to 9.5cm x 14cm.

5 Stamp Lavinia Stamps Woodland Hares, Three Dancing Fairies and Star Cluster stamps with ‘Jet Black’ Archival Ink.
6 Layer the Distress Oxide card onto black card 10cm x 14.5cm.
7 Attach to folded white A5 card.
8 For a touch of glimmer, add dots of silver Gelly Roll pen to highlight the star cluster.

2 Using a stencil of choice, lightly mist with water.
3 Lay the wet stencil down on the blended background. Soak up excess with paper towel.

4 As the water dries, the pattern of the stencil will become sharper and you will see how the water reacts with the oxide inks.
